Peezy shortlisted for NHS Innovation East of England Health & Social Care Awards

05.04.09

Peezy has been nominated as a finalist in the technology category of the NHS Innovation East of England Health and Social Care Awards.

The NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement website says: “The Awards give an opportunity to say thank you to health and social care staff who are doing a fantastic job providing exceptional health and social care.”

"To be nominated to the shortlist is a great honour," says Peezy inventor Dr Vincent Forte. "I hope that this will help fast-track Peezy as a standard female urine collection method across the NHS. Given the wholesale hygiene and infection control benefits it provides, Peezy is something that should be adopted in any event. But NHS Pasa data also shows that Peezy can produce savings of around £2 per patient experience. That must make it no-brainer for the procurement people."

The Technology Category NHS Innovation East of England Health and Social Care Award winners will be announced at a ceremony in Billericay, Essex, on 20th May 2009.
